When busy with rendering Mandelbulb3d or Terragen 2 listening to progressive psytrance or psytech good example is 1.fm station psytrance
always a good psychedelic combination creating fractals and psytrance.

Aww, it's totally random. Just what I have on my playlist :meow:
But for fast drawings I'm listening my favourite tracks from the Electronic Trance genre :iconjammingplz:
But a bunch of videogame music can be nice as well. If I draw some Final Fantasy fan art then strangely I'm listening a bunch of the best Final Fantasy music :giggle:

Some music I can't listen to when I'm drawing (or doing any kind of work in general) because it'll draw me into the music too much and totally distract me. One kind of music I can listen to is very heavy and crushing funeral doom metal, because it is dark gloomy, gritty and downright crushing (just like the kind of art I try to make, so it pretty much fits perfectly). One example of this is Evoken: www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLg4oh…

Do you know Esoteric?

Don't know too much of their stuff, but I've listened to Epistemological Despondency and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

But chose time, be patient and listen to the whole song. It's worth of it.

Oh wow! o.o;;
Have you ever tried instrumental then?
I sometimes need to focus on creating and listening to music without words can help in that case~

Some instrumentals I can listen to without it being too distracting.

Depends on the character. I work on a comic, the current chapter is about a character who enjoys jazz, so I listen to jazz. In upcoming chapters I may listen to more popular music, new wave, classical or really experimental music :)
Gotta be able to understand my character a hundred percent!
