Sometimes I'll listen to a song and do something else at the same time, and if the situation repeats itself, the song will start to remind me of that action, even if it has nothing to do with that. For example, I have a song called "Erase or Zero" on my iTunes that always makes me think of playing Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2, just because I seem to be playing that game at one of the few moments when I'm also listening to the song.
