I'm listening to the main piece from American Beauty at the moment and I can't explain how much I love it :)

"This Is Our Land" by Epic Score is a very good song to just sit back and chill out with. It paints such a vivid picture in your head without lyrics. Masterpiece.

Depending on the mood, it's 80s/90s R&B & soul, like Al B Sure, Luther Vandross, Melisa Morgan, Sade, Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, etc., Enya, Clannad, Celtic Woman, Tchaikovsky or Marillion.

Ska music. And I don't necessarily mean the Streetlight Manifesto type of ska with insanely fast beats and lyrics...

I mean more like The Mighty Mighty Bosstones "Everybody's better" and The Dirty Heads "Lay me Down" and some Sugar Ray lol Reminds me of summer and palm beaches ^^

Oooh, I've listened to that one. It's good.

When I want to chill out, I prefer something by either Cat Power, Feist, Little Dragon or Late Night Alumni.

Anything by Pearl Jam, Pink Floyd, and some of Soundgarden.
Also, "Weisser Rauch" by Creme de la Creme... even though I've no idea what they're talking about because the whole song is in German.

On The Evening Train, Desperado, Danny Boy and Hurt each must be Johnny Cash's version, other than that I really enjoy Right Where It Belongs V.2 by Nine Inch Nails and Waiting For Superman by Iron & Wine.

check out her 1967 album "Chelsea Girl" - her music was on the Royal Tennenbaums OST and she was on the first Velvet Underground album. she was really cool for her time imo.

.. wait, I said "These Days" when I meant "Chelsea Girl" :slow:. The Velvet Underground is exactly what lead me to that album and it's the very first one of hers I heard anything from. Had to dig a bit more to learn about the gothic sounding stuff.

Oh, I just meant that kinda creepy almost folkish sound you get out of stuff like Desertshore and The Marble Index. I didn't mean the post-punk kind of gothic, although that's stuff I never properly looked into. Closest I've ever gotten is Joy Division, whom I adore...
