Metal bassist right here! I have a cancelled prototype by Parker, (lucky lucky...) it plays like a champ. Not much distinct tone, but I actually discovered half-round strings as a solution. They work wonders for my playing style. I want to get an older rock bass with more bite at some point, mostly for jamming to more punk-ish tunes with a fuckton of overdrive.
I play with fingers for the most part, with some slapping. But I love the "Lemmy strum" picking style as well.
Good to see that some metal bassists still use finger style. I pretty much play every genre of music, in any style, but im mainly alternative and punk. Got a nice little schecter with bright red strings on it, theyre awesome
