Heard of inde music, or possibly even "emo" music?

If so can you tell me your favorites? Or I think there's a genre out there called "emo" music? I'm not sure. But that's the type of music i'm trying to aim for, soft (acoustic) and different. <3 Thank you.

Ed Sheeran is the only indie band like. i hate most of that type of music cos it is bland and boring and derivitive.

I like the type of jazz that you can sit in the corner of a dark bar wearing a suit, sipping wine with a ciggarette in one hand, softly crying and wispering under your breath "yeah, thats alright isnt it"

so bohrin and der club of gore stuff like that. thats soft and acoustic.
