I saw this thread and couldn't resist. I love both AFI and Blaqk Audio, but AFI is definitely my favorite. I started with AFI, and Blaqk Audio kind of fills the void since AFI hasn't done anything new for a while, and their last album wasn't my favorite.

I noticed a few people saying that liking AFI was a phase for them, but I'm a lifetime fan of AFI. They will always be my favorite band.
My favorite album is Black Sails In The Sunset, but it's a close race with The Art Of Drowning and Sing The Sorrow. Decemberunderground was alright, I wasn't too fond of Crash Love. I have to be in a certain mood to listen to their old albums like Answer That And Stay Fashionable, for example, but I enjoy all of their music nonetheless. They've also done some great Misfits covers, which I love because The Misfits are another of my favorite bands.

I could go on about this forever because I'm the worst/best kind of fan. I'm that weird person at a party that goes on a drunken rant about the Clandestine mystery.

AFI is okay. I like some of their songs. Miss Murder (with the Prelude of course!), Girl's Not Grey, and Silver And Cold are their only awesome songs in my opinion.

I liked AFI up until The Art of Drowning. Sing the Sorrow through Crash Love I didn't really like to much.

I don't know to much about any Davey side projects except for when he was in Son of Sam.
