I've been trying to get into this genre, but I haven;t the slightest clue where to start. I like a lot of jazz based electronica like St. Germain and Nils Petter Molvaer, but aside from that the stuff I've been finding just isn't up to par. So with that said, any recommendations?

You'd probably like some of the more deep stuff. Check out Naked Music, NRK, Om Records, Freerange, Exquisite Music, Body Rhythm Records, Onethirty Recordings, or just search around for Deep House in general, it probably has that vibe you're looking for.

I gave this list to ~EverEver not too long back, and he dug most of it. Should be right up your alley, actually.

Ananda Project
Dimitri From Paris
Frankie Knuckles
Kevin Yost
Julius Papp
Llorca
Mateo & Matos
Physics
Ross Couch
St. Germain

See if you can get Defected In The House mixed by Louie Vega and/or New York House Session 2 both should be what you're after.

they're not really house per se, but you'd probably dig kruder and dorfmeister. zero db and masters at work are quite fab sometimes as well. otherwise, i'd say rayvinazn's list should do it.

I should probably check out Masters at Work since I like Louie Vega, any particular album or EP you'd recommend?

i honestly can't stand that type of house...i just thought they'd like it. rayvinazn probably knows...i just know about vega/migs/maw since the djs here worship them for some reason.

Everyone should worship Miguel Migs. Or at least carry his picture in their wallet.

Thanks, that's definitely the vibe I was looking for.
