Definitely check it out. I absolutely loved the opening. Was perfect and the artwork is beautiful. Dunno if you're aware of this artist but the main character Re-L resembles the Evanescence lead singer Amy Lee.
I wasn't really all that impressed with Ergo Proxy to be honest. it was dull to me in many places and drug along just too much. at times I couldn't even follow the plot because it made very little sense to me.
The thing about that anime is that you have to pay very close attention to what's actually going on in the series. It actually does make sense on many parts. There are some things left unanswered in the series but the overall series is far from being boring if you can understand whats being said/going on as far as the story goes. Its quite an ingenious series if you especially considering all of the philosophical references, scientific references, and artistic references as well.
Definitely. I think what drew me in the most was the character development of each character throughout the series. It was so thorough that even Pino her self evolved. I loved how Re-L evolved from a self entitled b*tchy person to an optimist who had hope for human kind and the world. Really was a great story and had awesome character development. Each one evolved respectfully based off of their own known truths.
definitely. On the subject of Pino, I think for me she's one of two kids in anime that are actually likeable, the other being the prince in Seirei no Moribito. I usually hate kids in anime, they are such stupid whiny brats, but I damn loved Pino. Re-l was a great character too, just because she was so unconventional for a female lead. So frigging many of them are the same old overused moe type it's like watching the same thing.
Ergo Proxy is my favourite anime in absolute. It's full of quotes and full of philosophical and artistic references, while the meaning of it is really deep and important. I never tried to make fanarts for this series, but I will surely try when I will have time for it
