Creepiest, most uncomfortable movie?

:iconbaseball777:
baseball777 Featured By Owner Dec 19, 2012
So, what is the creepiest movie you've seen?

I'd have to say One Hour Photo with Robin Williams. It's like... you feel bad for the guy, but at the same time... ugh. It's just really, really uncomfortable.

I'm gonna sound like a dork here but I'm gonna have to say The Shining.
Seriously. I don't know what it is. I've seen a lot of the movies that have already been mentioned and yeah, they are kinda creepy but this one just hits, you know? There are so many disturbing images, disturbing sounds. I honestly can't remember a movie that had scared me this much upon first watching it. It's just.... chilling.

Also, Clockwork Orange. Much of the same idea but different end result. I honestly never want to see this film again.

silence of the lambs. It's not that bloody or violent, just so well written that it gets entirely under your skin.

I'm not a veteran in watching scary or creepy movies, but of those chosen few I have seen in my life, I think The Thing (1982) is the best creepy movie I've ever seen. Either that, or The Fly (1986).

 But I get that it's not for everyone. So it's logical that it doesn't have a very big audience.

Creepy; as in bad, totally just makes you uncomfortable with yourself? "Killer Joe" - Pedophilia, "Suck my chicken or I'll wear your face" bullshit. I felt itchy and stretched thin after that movie. /shivers

"Signs" remains to be the only movie from my childhood that still gets to me. It's what started my intense dislike for reflections in T.V. screens, and for the longest time I had to stuff the gaps under doorways with clothes.

"Splice" - words are not needed. The movies speaks for itself.

The Ring was a pretty bad one for me. Also, while the movie as a whole was a bit blah in my opinion, the claustrophobic spelunking scenes from The Descent... :fear:

True, true. But then when you see it as an adult (or with the lights on in the middle of the day... I get scared easily when I'm tired, lol), it's pretty awesome actually :) And not very scary.

The Cable Guy with Jim Carrey, it's supposed to be a dark comedy but you don't know whether to feel sorry for Chip or run away from him, great movie, yes - but it's Carrey's creepiest performance in my opinion.

There was this Japanese zombie I saw the other day. It was a pretty generic modern day zombie movie for a while, and then came a rape scene between a half-human half-zombie perv and some chick (it involved piss as well). I stopped watching right quickly.

The boy with the striped pajamas. I think the thing I hated most about that movie was that I knew it was fiction...I knew boys that young were killed instead of put into a labor camp. Very sad time period in our history :(

Pan's Labyrinth. It was like my very life essence had been slowly drained from me, like all the happiness had gone from the world...apparently the movie is a dementor.

It was dark, depressing and bleak for a bit.

Then Mercedes kicked everybody's ass and I felt slightly better. :dummy:

And then they shot Ofelia and my heart shot into my gut out of horror and despair. :'(

Then Mercedes said her badass line to Vidal and I felt slightly better again.

Then I remembered Ofelia was dead and I was super depressed until the movie was over.

That movie made me all sorts of uncomfortable due to emotion-rape.

Nah, I don't think it was a hallucination, just cos of that one scene where the stepdad is chasing her through the labyrinth, and the walls open up so she can run straight to the centre, & then the dad runs up behind her and hits a dead end where she was just moments before. If it was a hallucination, how did that happen? :hmm:
