I am basically an oldies girl, and no
not the new ''old stuff is coming back'' who like the fashion and that is it. //
It is like MY WORLD! An immense passion and well.. I wanted to try to watch more films when I had the time, because I am looking for good old movies to watch!
I am in love with everything from past decades and 1920's-1980's
but mostly I love the 50's and 60's radical man-

I love these movies, V top picks for me!
My fave movies are April Love, with Pat Boon, Agatha Christie Series, James Bond
To Sir With Love ;w <3
The creature from the black Lagoon,
Psycho!
Sunset Boulevard and Lord of the flies!
If anyone can recommend me their top pics for classic films and even Silent Films I would love to watch them!
Thank you so much fellow classic movie lovers! -hug- Maybe we can even discuss about it!
Cheers! <3 :star:

Well, a lot of Bing Crosby's movies are pretty good, and I do have a soft spot for the first version of "A Streetcar Named Desire."

When I was really young there was this movie "In Search of the Castaways" that I was in love with and still remember fondly. It's in color, but dates from the 1960s and the visual effects are probably laughable today. That is a family friendly adventure story
If you wanted more adult oriented maybe the Pink Panther series with Peter Sellers (well you've probably already seen these anyhow) but that's my all time favorite.
Slightly more obscure is something like 'Forbidden Planet' from 1956 which is also in color, and i guess it's the first movie ever with an electronic soundtrack. It's totally awesome, I loved it.
Even more obscure- there's an East German flick "Haisser Sommer!" which can be bought on amazon, is a musical all in German from 1968. Was way more catchy and cute than I expected.

I could easily recommend anything that includes Vincent Price. That man is amazing. *.* Especially The Tingler, House of Wax, and A Comedy of Terrors.

I'd also highly recommend Blithe Spirit and Auntie Mame (with Rosalind Russell). Those are definitely two of my all-time favorite old movies! Berserk with Joan Crawford was also really good, if I remember correctly, but it's been a while since I watched it.

My mom raised me to love old movies (especially musicals), so I totally get where you're coming from. She's slowly introducing me to more and more. :D

A classic that doesn't get quite enough love would definitely be the "Little Shop of Horrors" from '86.
Amazing animatronics, great design, songs and actors. (Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene, Steve Martin, Bill Murray)

Really lovely movie to say the least.

Sorcerer but no Wages of Fear! Pah! ( Great list otherwise! )

I haven't seen the '53 version yet, and even so I was just cherry picking stuff I have on DVD, hence there's likely to be various... snubs. But that film is on my to-watch list whenever I can get around to it. :)
cajunattack's avatar
Ah, no worries mate. I'm ashamed to say I haven't seen at least a quarter of the films on your list! Def recommend Wages Of Fear- though the first hour or so drags a wee bit, when they actually get in the trucks the film is brilliant- with more suspense and exciting moments than most modern thrillers.
