I found the main villain to be very joker-ish that is true. I really wanted to like this movie but found several things about it that I just couldn't ignore and that I didn't like. It was much better than Quantam of Solace, which I did not enjoy at all. Casino Royal is still really the best. (SPOILER ALERT BELOW \/\/\/ )
First of all, why didn't the main bad guy stay at the pond to make sure Bond was dead, I mean, really, SO cliche that he "assumes" Bond drowned/froze and just leaves.
Secondly, I didn't like how they made the main bad guy seem to have everything so perfectly planned out, but then he rushes into the room and starts firing his pistol wildly. Didn't seem quite that planned out in the end.
I thought Bond wanted to help the girl, but instead he pulls of his "shoot all the badguys and get out of a sticky situation" move only after the main bad guys shoots the chick.
Then, at the end: I wish there would have been an awesome fist fight or SOMETHING between Bond and the main villain, instead of just a knife throw to the back.
Even better, it would've been cool if the main villain realized that Bond had saved the day once again and that he actually pulled back and left to come back and fight another day.
THEN M would've died and the main bad guy would blame Bond for taking away his right to killing M and he would release all his fury and bad-guy-ness at Bond in the next movie.
I also forgot to mention how much I hated having watched the trailer and ALREADY KNEW that Bond was going to be shot in the first scene and come back later. I would've MUCH more preferred to have just watched the movie, stupid movie trailer's these days.
I think they spent too much time chasing that one guy in the beginning. It's like, OK, Bond chases this guy in the first scene, "dies" and fails to catch the guy, then goes into hiding for a bit to drink a lot, and then an UNDETERMINED AMOUNT OF TIME LATER he comes back and picks up the trail again with the guy he was chasing earlier? hmmmmmm, didn't like that at all.
I loved it. Definitely better than Quantum of Solace, and almost as good as Casino Royale. I thought it lacked a lot of "Bond-ish" elements, though, and it was a lot like Batman. But there were great action scenes, and the ending was touching.
It was OK. Some of the action scenes were really entertaining. But what I didn't like: -The villain was stock. He seems like the kind of villain that would come from the Batman or the Sherlock Holmes universe. -The new Q was a bore. -the obligatory final action scene went on far too long and built very little suspense, surprisingly. (plus, why the hell didn't that side character help M when Creepy McBadguy threw himself over her?? Seriously, he just stood there like...it's like he went on a bathroom break. Who knows, since we don't see him or hear him for minutes.)
it is simply good movie not the best...what bothers me is Bond's wound at the beginning..he got shot on his chest by the bad guy...then got shot agin by Eve...where did he get shot? ...n when Silva caught Bond n saw Bond's wound on his chest..he mentioned it as MI6's fault??..(shot by Eve). If Bond got shot twice on the same chest..then he couldn't trace the origin of the bullet.
Skyfall was an extraordinary film, from the first shot of Bond walking into this tiny beam of light to riding motorcycles on rooftops, it was an extraordinary film! Would go on my top 10 of this year up with Dark Knight Rises.
