Yeeeeaaaaah, for me... the coachman from Pinocchio, although intentionally scary, when he made this face [link] he scared the hell outta me beyond aaaaany expectations I've had, and I was already sufficiently creeped out by the puppeteer
It seems like a lot of people are mentioning intentionally scary characters.... Anyway, not technically a cartoon, but a puppet... thing. On Allegra's Window ... Well all the puppets are actually pretty creepy, but that cat and dog are horrifying.
"Night Of The Wheremole", blond violin girl and that puddle woman from Courage The Cowardly Dog; Higurashi no naku koro ni (full of scary scenes) and probably Paranormal Activity (I only watched part 1).
i remember the theme song to the x-files made me scream and run under my bed for hours when i as a kid. but i suppose this is a cartoon thing so hmmm...not much sared me to be honest. but the closest i got to be scared was probably a cartoon called trap door.
i dont remember the show at all to be honest but i recall it did send shivers down my spine when i watched it.
For some reason Snow White and the seven dwarves scared me as a kid and to this day I still refuse to watch to find out why.
Also there was an episode of Hey Arnold where Arnold and his friend Gerald got a job at a flowershop and started hating each other. Then there was a flash forward to when they are old... And there was a shot of Arnold's grandpa green and partially decayed saying something and his mouth falling off. Also Arnold's cousin scared me for some reason.
Roger Rabbit....>> Idk what the heck it was about that bunny but for some reason he scared me so much when I was 2 or so that I didn't watch the movie again until for about 15-16 years... I think the problem was the 2D animated characters in real life. It must have reminded me of 3D features I had seen in theme parks, those use to scare the heck out of me as a child...=_=
I don't get it, how you found the rabbit scary, but not the toons. I like creepiness as next as the other guy, but DAMN, those things need to be oozed. Or thrown in the soup. Or whatever that crap was that the villain used in Roger Rabbit.
Speaking of spookiness, I have been noticing an occasional kind of stylish creepiness popping up every now and again, not unlike a disney acid sequence. You get me?
One time a couple of years back, I was flicking through the channels, and came across this cartoon on the Kids station, and it scared the crap out of me. Freaky little singing jellybeans, but particularly the Green one with its Satanic voice I was like HOLY FUCK!!
I actually found the video on YouTube a while ago, and it still creeps me out. Just..... look at that possessed little fucker! [link]
