The Thing From Another World (1951) : Great.

The Thing (1981) : Great.

The Thing (2011) : Tried so hard to be the last movie but failed and was completely terrible. I enjoyed the monster designs but the CGI looked so fake.

Tension between fights was there!
As was the 'Oh hell, who's a monster again?'

But yea, i woulda liked to have seen the movie in Traditional Medium more!

In my opinion, even though they tried to bring tension I didn't feel the same excitement like I felt in the last two movies.

Yeeaaah, that was an issue in it for me, up until i was watching it.

I put myself into the theatre mode, and i couldn't decline that i was scared!

One of the best horror films there is for certain and great adaptation. I read the original story few month's ago and i thought that it was just terrible compared to the film. Maybe if it had been book instead of short story it would have been better.

I won't say that the new film was completely atricious but theater version at least was crap.

I've watched all three movies and I prefer John carpenters version. The one thing that i did not like about the 2011 version was that it did not explain what had happened to the main character Kate Lloyd.

It left it at a cliffhanger, just as McCarthy and Childs at the end of Good Johns original!

I could go over what might have happened to her, if you so wish...

1- She froze to death in her Tractor
2-she excaped in her tractor, leaving the thing behind
3-She/the Thing escape
4-The Thing freezing, and being discovered by Russia-Base...
5-The thing making it over to Her tractor and getting her while she's inside it...
6-The Second Arm-Thing infecting something, and spreading to Russia-base/World
7-What's-her-face has contracted The Thing, and doesn't know it yet...

Seriously, this list is endless, and totally in Fashion of the 1st and even Johns Remake!
