It was a good ending. It was a bit strange, and I thought it was really weird that Cuddy didn't even come to his funeral but Stacey did. And he hallucinated about Stacey, Amber, Kutner, and Cameron, but not Cuddy? It just didn't seem to fit. Why have him hallucinate multiple people if it only draws attention to the obvious missing character? That being said, I liked it overall. Also, someone suggested an alternate interpretation of the ending (spoilers abound!):

House did die in the fire, and Wilson, grieving over his best friend's death and already suffering the brain damage from his own impending brain cancer, hallucinates that House is still alive at the end. He ends up going on the road trip with no one else but his memories. It's possible that this was foreshadowed when Wilson approaches the burning building and thinks he sees House in the window. Wilson was already beginning to have a mental breakdown.

Not saying I necessarily agree with that interpretation, but it's definitely interesting to think about. Plus, how likely is it that House, in his addled state, escaped the burning building, hacked into police department records to change his dental records, and snuck into the hospital to leave his nametag for Foreman to find, all before the funeral?

That being said, either way of looking at it is a good ending. If it's the typical interpretation, House gets a whole new fresh start under a new identity, and Wilson spends his last few months happy. If it's the alternate interpretation, there's a sort of poetry that Wilson was so determined to remember his best friend in a good light that he fabricated/hallucinated a hopeful ending for both of them.

I thought the same thing too about the death. It would fit with Wilson's current state of mind. But who knows...
