it would definitely have to be some sort of projectile/shooter/melee type of fighter. I'd probably prefer it to be in the style of Power Stone or Custom Robo. I'd say it's a plus that it doesn't copy off of SSB's style.
I have no idea what Microsoft was thinking with them. They buy Nintendo's most popular developer, then they personally step in and destroy what made them popular ... Not exactly a winning formula there.
Although on the other hand, the Kinect Sports crap sadly enough makes money so they are unlikely to change back.
Not to spoil anyone's speculations, but I remember reading an article on Kotaku stating that Microsoft wasn't planning on making a Smash Bros. style game anytime soon. Just as well, I guess, since I figure Microsoft doesn't have enough characters to make a game like that work. The only characters I can see in a Microsoft Smash Bros. game that the company actually owns at the moment would probably be:
- Master Chief - Marcus Phoenix - A Fable character - Blinx the Time Sweeper - Banjo & Kazooie - The main character from "Mark of The Ninja"
Microsoft would have to rely A LOT on third-party characters to make a crossover fighter work right now. But then, I'm not much of an Xbox player, so if Microsoft has more IPs to borrow from than the ones I mentioned here, I wouldn't know.
