Favorite Video Game strictly because of its soundtrack? (Also VG Music General)
What games out there have been made perfect by their soundtracks?
I'm gunna start right now: Every Katamari game.

The World Ends with You. I bought the soundtrack on iTunes, and listen to it daily.
Pretty much all Sonic games, Pokemon, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
I freaking LOVE Silver the Hedgehog's theme song. ^^

Kid Icarus and Dr.Mario
I encourage everyone to vote on the poll on my page -- I'm trying to figure out what to feature in our May concert, but I can't decide!
Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time.
Portal series
Farcry 3
the Halo series
Crysis 2 was okay

Gonna have to go again with DoDonPachi. It might as well just be it's own fucking radio station. It has so many damn soundtracks that have penetrated so many genres including rock, trance, techno, chiptune, dupstep, and even jazz at some points. But DoDonPachi 4 Black Label...my favorite.
Then comes Mirror's Edge and the Solar Fields score. That was some euphoric goodness.
And then Radio Allergy on Wii and Dreamcast.

Pick a Castlevania, almost any Castlevania. Half the reason I play Castlevania is to hear the music.
Grandia II would be my other pick. I can't put my love for it into words.

I hear Castlevania come up often. The music is very iconic, but I'm certainly not a fan. Maybe I should give it another shot, though -- I don't listen to it very often.

I was actually thinking about this previously when I realised how much of an integral part music is when it comes to videogames for me. There are a load of pretty average games that I would have put down ages ago if it wasn't for the music. Hell, the reason why it's such a joy to blast through metal slug 3 so many times is because of the kick-ass soundtrack. In fact, I'd say about 50% of my iTunes library was made up entirely of videogame soundtracks

I had to say Legend of Zelda, but specifically when they made Skyward Sword it had one of the most beautful SDs every.
though i do like Twilight Princess's SD and Wind Waker's.

Hexen.
Probably Portal 2 or Limbo. I love soundtracks xD!
Easy. Secret of Mana.
If I had to choose based on soundtrack alone, I'd have to go with TES III: Morrowind. Some of the music is pure peace at its finest.
Alan Wake

jet set radio future: amazing game both gameplay and soundtrack.
need for speed hot pursuit 2: good game all round really. good gameplay and music. they came togeter really well.
to be honest there is alot of games ive liked for there soundtrack but none of them are really coming to mind straight off the bat. so i'll stick with jet set radio future. i think most would agree with that choice.
some other games that are coming to mind at this point are need for speed underground and halo 2. however i dont remember the soundtracks well enough to add them to my suggestions.

Out of all of these replies, there have very few Maxis games :< very discouraging for my Sim City-themed concert coming up in March
Lots of unique things popping up, though, I love it!

Final Fantasy X. I'm sorry but To Zanarkand pawns everything.
Xenoblade, NieR, Catherine, Persona 4, Radiata Stories, Resonance of Fate, and Fire Emblems PoR and RD.
I do love the music on Radiata Stories. It's so underrated as a game.
