Auto Modellista

Does anybody remember the PS2/Gamecube/Xbox racer Auto Modellista? Anybody who may not have heard of it, read this; Auto Modellista was a driving game released by Capcom for the PlayStation 2, Nintendo Gamecube and Microsoft Xbox consoles back in 2003. One unique thing about it was it had cel-shaded graphics which made it look cartoon-like in appearance. It may have been a commercial failure, but I thought it was pretty fun game.
All the cars in it were licensed vehicles, and the courses were all real locations.

Anyone who remembers playing it want to share their opinions?

Ah, just reading the name gave me a warm nostalgic glow.

It was a slightly above average racing game, but excellent if you enjoyed modding the cars and giving them custom paint jobs.

Actually the game was originally released 2002, but the US Tuned version did come out in 2003, and Xbox was in 2004. But anyway yes I do remember Auto Modellista and have played it a few times back in 2002. I did like the cel-shaded graphics and cartoony appearance look.

I purchased a used copy for $12.99 from Babbage's (now GameStop) at the Ocean County Mall in Toms River, New Jersey back in 2005 during the holiday season. I don't remember it much, but I think I got to Level 5 in Garage Life mode.

I wasn't sure what level I was on back then, however the game did have some issues and problems.

It sits at a crossroad between arcade and simulation physics.

Sounds like the only thing it had going for it was the graphics.
