I have been a part of a wonderful online roleplaying community for over a decade, and our player base has slimmed down some over the years.
The game is The Land of Karchan MUD.
We are a fantasy game that is borderline steampunk at times. There are guilds to join, deities to follow, cities to explore, and storylines to build.
We have magic, mayhem, evil vs. good and everything in between. We have gangs to join, psychics, and even an underwater area for sea folk (like cecaelia and merfolk).
We are always looking for new members because eventually, people grow out of the game and leave. Then there are the people who get banned for various reasons, so our player base is dwindling.
If you can imagine it, you can be it. There are many werewolves, vampires, mermaids, cecaelia, a sprinkling of nymphs, dragons and so much more.
You can be a knight, ranger, cleric, pirate, healer, or dark paladin. It is really up to YOU what you do with your characters.
Best of all, it is completely free and has been since it's creation in the nineties. We are a very literate group of people save for a couple, and we would love to write with new people with fresh ideas.
