Nintendo is a gaming franchise that dates back the furthest, if you look at all current 1st party game producers. It fought its way through the 70', 80s', tough 90's and through the first decade of the 2000's. They are proving to have more fans just amongst their own characters than Microsoft and Sony alike. The charm of nintendo has stayed the same and thats what is best, not to buy game companies and say, NO! YOU CANNOT HAVE ---, ____, lkajdflkdj, or akljdflakj!!! Nintendo is great, and how does the rest of you feel about anything Nintendo?
Nintendo lacks anything worth my time. No let me correct myself. Advance Wars and Megaman Zero were good, along with a few others. But Nintendo consoles lack Blazblue, Soulcalibur (a real game, not a cheap hack and slash), and a lot of other fighting games/hardcore games.
Nintendo is nice. But the best? No. All the companies compliment each other, and they all specialize in their own nice ways.
but look at f-zero GX, (its older) but its one of the most hardcore games of all time, super smash bros is just awsome in its own beat up the yoshi kind of way.
Because rainbowz. Its not a clump of guns, online stuff, and whateer else you do in those shooting games. ive only seen a few videos of call of duty, and it seemed to be all GREYYYYY.
Nintendo is actually one of the companies that's managed to keep my support and interest through most console generations. Though towards the end of the Nintendo 64 and Gamecube era, I thought the first-party pool had run a little dry. And then when the Wii was announced, I thought they'd lost me for good. I thought the only game I'd really want was Super Smash Bros Brawl. But then, I'd pretty much changed my mind once I played Mario Galaxy.
What I like most about Nintendo is that they know how to keep their games fresh and innovative while still maintaining all the familiar elements you'd expect from them. They're ahead of their time, but at the same time, keeping things traditional. New Super Mario Bros Wii and Zelda: Skyward Sword are perfect examples of this practice.
