I agree. TP had pretty graphics and a more personal plotline, but it lacked that 64-style goodness. 64 game were da bomb!

Honestly, and I've said this before, OoT is not the Best Zelda Game of All Time.

Nor is it deserving of 1/4 of the praise it gets (at least in my opinion)...

What it was was something new and different.
Something the Zelda community seems to fear and hate.

It seems to them that OoT is a Paragon of Zelda-ness, and that no other Zelda game will supplant it.

I have played a little of all of the official Zelda games (except Four Swords, Minish Cap and Phantom Hourglass), and so my personal opinion will different from the stereotypical fanboy/girl...

My list is as follows:
1. Majora's Mask
2. Link's Awakening
3. Wind Waker
4. Oracle of Ages
5. Link to the Past
6. Twilight Princess
7. Ocarina of Time
8. The Legend of Zelda
9. The Adventure of Link

Ocarina of Time is definitely the best one I've ever played. Twilight Princess would probably rank second in my book. Then again, I've only ever played four or five LoZ games. I really wanna play Majora's Mask.

I've always wanted to try Majora's Mask (never played it), but it's nice to see that someone thinks it's good. My friends have all told me that it sucks because it's timed. I'm glad to see a positive opinion about it.

Ocarina of Time. At this stage in Zelda history, the quality had everyone wowed. Utilizing the new dimensions available by the N64, the game creators had turned the game into something marvelous. Later games lacked such depth, and were either too short, or lacked sufficient side material to prolong game enjoyment. Twilight Princess was a step forward as far as graphics and some dungeons, but emphasis on story elements and aesthetics left gaps in game play and longevity, which some hard-core fans found disappointing. Other games followed, from handheld releases for the gameboy, gameboy color, GBA, and recently, the DS. However, most find that Ocarina of Time is the greatest.
