Wii is too childish/cartoonish?

What's your opinion on this? Everyone I've asked has said that they find Nintendo Wii to be too childish and cartoon-like when compared with PS3 and 360. This seems to be one of the reasons why people don't buy Wii. Games like Call of Duty 4 or Assassin's Creed or any of those recent games aren't released on the Wii, instead we have games like Mario Kart, Legend of Zelda and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Does Wii lack realistic games? Is this a disadvantage?

In my opinion it's Wii's (or even Nintendo's) unique style, some people may like it and some may not. But the people who do like it are mostly made up of Nintendo fans.

I'd like to hear what others think. Thanks =]

It's classic Nintendo, and nothing beats Nintendo. Nintendo is video games.

I don't think you can ever grow out of that cartoony style. It's definitely an advantage.

It makes Nintendo unique. Just their thing

Keep in mind, without Nintendo, there would be no PS3.

People whining about it obviously are insecure about their own maturity. :P

Realistic games are not "fun" for me. I'm not fond of the idea of people getting their head blown-off.

I love being part of a cartoon and all of its silly antics. I like acting like a kid sometimes.

Eh, to each their own... but Nintendo is Win.

I will have to agree with you. Without Nintendo there would be no PS3.
But then again, gaming has evolved and is taking new shapes, new routes

Will cartoonish graphics be sufficient enough for the future of gaming? Where is video games going?

So it's a matter of taste? Is Wii designed for people who like cartoon graphics?
Is it because Nintendo doesn't want violence (as in blood and gore) in their games?

Are the majority of Nintendo fans and supporters people who don't like violence?
Does maturity have anything to do with this?

Mario Galaxy and Brawl have sold massively, so it sounds very possible :B
