What's trending? (YA/ Teen fiction)

I haven't had the funds to go book shopping for a while,(I haven't book shopped in two years ;-; ) and was wondering if the trending book genre was still dystopia/ post-apocalypse? Or have we moved on to a new one?

Well to my own idea, I think that right now its romance, dystopian/post-apocalyptic, and some kind of fantasy...a bunch of fantasy...thats what I think.

To the best of my knowledge, dystopian/post-apocalyptic stories with teenage love triangles are still trending. I've also seen books of present day teenage romances where one person, usually a girl, is stricken with cancer or some form of malady. Zombies are still all the rage, too.

I'm still waiting on the "teens get trapped in an MMO" genre that's so prevalent in Japanese manga and light novels to make its presence known in the U.S. Maybe it already has and I haven't really noticed.

I don't follow the YA market that closely, and I don't think there's a clear trend at the moment, but fiction and epic fantasy are doing well.
