Best Non-Superhero Graphic Novels?

I'm looking for some good graphic novels that don't involve superheros, e.g  Maus, Persepolis, The Arrival by Shaun Tan  etc

Also with a nice art style and good story, any recommendations?

Sandman by Neil Gaiman, as well as Mr Punch and Violent Cases by Neil Gaiman
anything by Alan Moore, especially From Hell and Promethea
Ronin by Frank Miller
Bone by Jeff Smith
Transmetropolitan by Warren Ellis
Eightball by Dan Clowes
Stray Bullets by David Lapham
Love and Rockets by Hernandez Brothers
Y: Last Man and Fables are worth reading, but not exactly my thing

And of course I'd recommend my own webcomic.  It's an anthology with tons of cool stories and great art from people I met here at DA.  Link to the first story, THE TOWER --> bookofliescomic.thecomicseries…

Does Powers Vol. 1 count as a superhero book? If not then you can try 'em out, nice story for me... :)

You're looking for something... nonfiction-y? Maybe historical, by those titles?
