What makes a good manga comic?
I am taking up ideas for good manga comic characters, names, and OC's. And to actually want to figure out how one is made from from everyone's ideas: setting, heroes, villians etc.

Manga can be essentially anything you wish it to be! It can be any genre, I suggest thinking about genres a lot and trying to weed out the
ones that you find most interesting to develop a story on ^^ Also by looking at genres you can see the cliches from each one and
try to stay away from them and create something original! Good luck on making your manga, I will definitely read it if you upload it here! ^^

Thanks, loyal fan! I will do that, but for now I NEED GOOD STORY IDEAS!
No prob XD
Same thing as makes any story good. Manga is much more diverse than American comic books, covering a much wider range of genres. Just saying "manga" doesn't tell much about what the story is like.
You know me to draw with a more anime style, i like your stuff, apart from the odd spelling error, i have a few typed versions of your work on my computer, i basically just sat and corrected your spelling.
I Think a good manga should have a fast paced plot, as usually manga has a more violent side than anime, unless of course you're me me and watch read or listen to anything and everything you put in front of me (except rap music, gay porn, and horror movies) and have lots of eye catching images, and good "hook" lines. I take english at SQA National 5 (used to be intermediate 2 but they changed it, it now has a lot of stuff from the old Highers) so i might be talking in total gibberish to you.i was always good at creative writing, won prizes and stuff at school for it. So if you just want plain stories rather than a comic, i'll write one for you because i like to write this kinda stuff, and for some reason i've been obsessed with dragons. DAMN MY ADDICTION TO SKYRIM lol.

Cool
Screw the art. Screw the fancy animation. It's all in the story, first, always. I'm talking about the depth of your characters. Can the audience connect with it? I'm talking about the fluidity of the setting. Does it match with the story you are portraying? I am talking about the main themes of the story. Are the characters following the recurrent theme? Honestly, I've seen comic strips with the most horrid art, but a story that really hooks me from the get go.
Now, that we have the first priority cleared up, yes, I guess art is important too -_-
Your art should attract readers, it should convey what kind of comic you are writing. Ever read Sin City?( the original comic)
It shows off it's dark noir art style perfectly, which melts in great with the story.
but yah. story first, characters second, art third.

Very interesting. Will try that
if the art doesn't matter, read a book
comic/manga is a type of book*
