The Fault in Our Stars reminds me of...

Okay, first off, I loved The Fault in Our Stars. But! Ever since I read it, I've been feeling major deja-vu; specifically, the plot involving a passionate reader meeting their favorite writer, and finding out that he's not who they imagined.

I keep feeling like I've read a different book with that plot. Or...saw a movie with that plot? *could* be a play, but I doubt it.

I really don't remember anything else about this other book, except that I *think* the protagonist who meets their favorite author is a teenager in this book as well. Usually I'm able to Google-fu this kind of thing, but I'm kinda stuck here.

So! If you know of a book or a movie where a reader meets their favorite author and he's kind of a jerk (or maybe just off-putting?) that's *not* The Fault in Our Stars, what is it?

Bonus question: Did you like The Fault in Our Stars? What was your favorite part?

I really liked the book, it had a nice vibe even among the sad undertones.

That plot sort of seemed familiar, but since I couldn't figure it out I just put the thought aside. That book gave me major feels :(

isnt that the short n sweet novel by John Green? I never really found any closure with the ending. Did she die?live? who knows. Loved it to death though. All of John Greens works are so solid!

It is; I absolutely loved TFiOS. Mixed feelings about his other work, I really loved Looking for Alaska too.
