This applies only to those, who read manga pretty often as I can't expect a serious reply from those, who read manga once or twice a year and maybe even hate it
Either way, to those to whom it may apply, as I explored the manga I noticed I prefer the more mature content (not an ecchi and harem one though), twists and turns make me go on my tip toes (not literally), deeper meaning in what is being said and overall in things that make me think "Oh, hang on, that actually makes sense, but maybe...", even have a debate with yourself or with others who might have come across it.
Some psychological & mature manga I read and enjoyed:
- Monster ( just wow! ) - Etternal Sabbath - Kimi no Knife - Remote 7 (detective like) - Liar game (of course) - 7 seeds (intriguing) - Sanctuary (this was pretty damn interesting I should say) - Dr. Frost - Aiki - Vagabond - Elfen Lied - Soil - Bitter Virgin - Bokko (Awesome shizzle, too bad that there ain't a lot of chapters) - Homunculus ( if you haven't read it, do read it, interesting perspective on the "fake faces" people put up in front of others and what they really are inside!) - Spiral - Suiri No Kizuna (still reading, yet it's slowly becoming some religious bubble of nonsense ) - etc, etc, etc, some even i forgot
Anyways, that was just to give you reference or direction of what I already read. Also, mature and interesting stories like Sanctuary is always welcome on my "to-read" list..
Hope you can help me out and hopefully, I provided some good and interesting manga (to read for you) too
Firstly, thanks for the input in this topic. I think not only me, but like-minded people will all benefit from this, of what you people suggest, when they run out of ideas
As for 20th century boys, i've been aware of them long time, yet the description never seemed interesting enough to even give it a go,but i mgiht give it a go,after all ;D
will try they mushish and pet shop at some point, as i got too many things on my hands atm ;D
And as for Berserk, I read it It was all interesting at first and pretty good down the story, with the flashbacks of the main character's past and how it all became like it is...the transition from past to the future, but the further it got, the more bullshit and the more long-winded it became..so slowly, but surely the interest in the series has died out for me
You could try out Liar Game, it might be what you're looking for. I'm not quite sure, but honestly, I'm on the prowl for the same type of manga right now.
Thanks, but I listed "Liar Game" with the ones I already read or am up-to-date Greatly enjoyed it with Nao becoming stronger and stronger mentally and overcoming hurdles
