I really love this series. I really do. But I must say I was disappointed with the last two written so far (A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons).
I'll still finish the series of course, but to me it seems GRRM isn't really... moving the series forward.
Furthermore, I'm curious as to how HBO will adapt the fourth book into a season because I feel like it's not as action packed as the rest.
They both got super heavy on the POLITIKS and imho the flow didn't get away with it. Davos's segments remained painfully boring: ADWD had some excellent bits towards the end. I think he can get it together and make something more coherent and less clunky for TWOW. Also this is just a personal opinion but dear god do I hate Jon Connington, he's so damn bitter and what he's done with Young Griff is very poorly motivated and stupid.
I like the political parts but it really bogged it down in this one because there was so little action accompanying it. It was like... exposition for the most part. I know he's setting it up for something big though, so that gives me hope.
Personally, I am seriously looking forward to more exposition on the Harrenhal tourney drama and babyswaps. It's like a soap opera, I love it! Oh and I will be most annoyed if Tyrion or Young Griff turn out to be one of the heads of the dragon >(
I'm wondering if it will end up like the Quentyn Martell story line. Just a giant "anddddd you stuck around for this storyline to end it with a barbeque".
I don't know if I'd be upset or happy with that honestly.
Quent was an alright ending though: it was very sad but kind of important for dorne and fitting for his character...Griff can still be a plot device, just not a Targy one >(
AFFC I like the least out of all the books. ADWD was better, but all the meereen shit was getting irksome. I was also disappointed with how few chapters Bran and Arya got. And I hope Jon isn't dead. He's my favourite character.

So what do you think?
