Hello there and welcome to the forums At least it took you one week. It took me years to find the forums SHH I SAID NOTHING. You have awesome art * q * Art is also my hobby, but I hope to make it into a career one day. But first, I have to improve OTL Any hobbies or interests other than drawing? :3
Thanks! Heheh yeah it seems rather hidden! Yeah I wanted a career in art a long time ago, but it became apparent as time went on that I probably wouldn't enjoy a career in it, so that idea is scrapped for me for now. Mentioned some of my hobbies a little earlier in more detail, but in short some of the other things I like are gaming, reading, psychology/sociology/history etc, and animals.
Ahh cause I think it's a really competitive field and that I wouldn't be able to adapt well to it, plus I'm just not skilled enough to be able to compete in it, those are the main reasons. I usually play RPGs and MMOs, though I dabble in pretty much everything! My favorites at the moment would be GW2 and The Elder Scrolls series.
Hmm! I like to game, favorites atm are GW2 and Skyim/Oblivion/Morrowind. I live on a hobby farm so I spend a lot of time around animals, and am rather active with our dogs. Reading takes a good chunk of my time as well, and I enjoy things like psychology and sociology.
Ahh a hobby farm is just a term I made up. We live on a farm but instead of doing it for profit it's more for fun. Hmm don't really have a favorite animal, but I love my dogs and my cat to bits, also our llamas are pretty cool. I like just thinking about the workings of our minds and how that impacts our choices, nothing too specific within those fields but I do find myself frequently reading about things that would fall into those categories.
Hmm not much! It's true that llamas aren't hugely profitable farm animals, if you're trying to make a profit through farming animals, anyways. The main thing you can do with them is sheer them and sell their wool. Though that's only good if you've got the woolly kind, like us. Even then sheep are probably better.
Mostly the entertainment that we get out of them is just that they're just really awesome animals and spending time around them is interesting. For instance when we first got them we were all so thrown off since we though that they were kind of like horses... NOPE. That and we meet a bunch of people who stop by our house to look at them, though that's less cool when they hop the fence to do so, lol.
Haha awesome name you got there! Welcome to dA and the forums! I'm sure you'll have an awesome experience here.
You're drawings are pretty good! And don't worry at all, experimenting is definitely one of the best things you can do when practicing art! Too many people (like me ;- tend to stay in their comfort zone when drawing and all their pictures look really similar. I've been meaning to expand my horizons. x)
Thanks for the welcome, and the compliment! Heheh yeah I'm not getting too far out of my box yet, I have the most fun drawing faces so I end up with that a lot without really noticing! Definitely opened up more though. I checked your gallery and I'd say you've got a fair amount of variety in your drawings, at least compared to many others I have seen.
No worries, none of you drawing are really similar, and I have to say you have a very unique and interesting art style! Which is definitely a good thing, hahaha! And I suppose that's what dA is here for- to help you get out of your box. x) And that's definitely a good thing to hear! I suppose you could say my art style changes a bit with every piece, but most of them usually have very similar subjects haha. I really want to get into learning how to draw men and backgrounds.
Why thank you! And yes, true. I agree! I really need to get better at men and backgrounds as well, or even just get better at envisioning things and concepts. I try to experiment at least a little bit in every piece, and so far I've been learning a fair amount.
Haha yeah, I've tried to draw guys every once in a while and most of the time they end up looking a bit girly. I've had very few successes haha but I suppose that's what practice is for! And backgrounds... I just stink at backgrounds. Like... a lot. xD By that, do you mean coming up with different/ more creative scenes for your art? And that's definitely very good, experimenting is a surefire way to improve on some things.
Oh, well I would definitely recommend using a reference to help solve that problem! is an amazing account for references, she has lack practically every pose! As long as you don't trace, it's very useful! After you get the basics of perspective and anatomy and stuff, you'll be able to be drawing from memory!
^Those are some pretty useful resources on lighting and anatomy etc. Not sure if that is exactly what you were asking for... but I hope it helped! If it's not what you were looking for, dA has soooo many useful resources and tutorials to help you improve, it's amazing!
Hello there! Hahah you'll think I'm weird but I actually laughed when I got the name joke XD. Anyways what's up stranger? I'm not very good at this "introduction" thing but eh. 0-0 *has no conversation starters so decided to be a creeper and stalk your gallery* woah, nice art style!
