Drawing practice- new and rusty

I'm pretty new to DA, and I'm trying to improve my drawing ability. Well, if your girlfriend drew stuff like ~Sapphire-Armadillo and you drew stuff like ~PrimeMinisterFrill you would want to, too. Could someone give me suggestions of what to try drawing? Variety will help expand my skill set.
