Hello there everybody!

Obviously, I'm pretty new here, and after two weeks I've come to realize...I don't really know anyone here. I mean, I know a couple of people, but I didn't really know just how to go about meeting new people (a problem I have in my real-life social life as well).

Then I realized this site had forums. And I felt like an idiot

So here I am, still very new, and looking for some friends. Here's some things to know about me:

1. Drawing and visual art is more of just a hobby of mine. I'm not terrific at it, but I'm not horrible either. Otherwise I would've never made a DA account to begin with But yeah, I'm more of a performing artist, in theater and musical theater mostly, as well as music.

2. I love manga/anime, although only certain series.I can be very picky about what I read/watch, but I'm always open to suggestions. I'll tell you right off the bat that I'm not really into Naruto, One Piece, or any shoujos (except Ouran HSHC. That series is HILARIOUS). I only know a little bit about FMA. I do like Bleach, D.Gray-man, Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler), Soul Eater, and Digimon off the top of my head. Again, I'm pretty open to suggestions.

3. I'm a pretty avid reader. Mainly young adult action/adventure stuff. Not really the romance type. I did read all four Twilight books, and I thought it was...okay. Didn't love it, didn't hate it, it was just...there. I love the Percy Jackson series, though I haven't read The Son of Neptune yet I've read Harry Potter, 3/4 of the Inheritance cycle, Pendragon, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and Odd Thomas just to name a few. Like manga/anime, I'm always open to suggestions, but I can be picky about what I read.

4. I LOVE crime dramas. Those are the only TV shows I really, avidly watch. On the top of the list is Criminal Minds. LOVE IT. CSI is the show that got me watching crime dramas to begin with, so it will always have a special place in my heart. To list a few more: NCIS, NCIS LA, Law and Order CI (SVU is okay, but it gets REALLY depressing), The Mentalist, Bones, and I'm looking forward to the new series Elementary on CBS. Now, before you start throwing your tomatoes at me for that, hear me out. I absolutely LOVE the Sherlock series from BBC. I think it was brilliant, and no American version will ever live up to it. However, I also love pretty much any version of Sherlock Holmes, and I would like to give this new series a chance before the Sherlock "purists" beat it down to the fiery depths of hell.

Well, that's about all I can think of off the top of my head. I'm willing to have intelligent conversations with people about pretty much anything (except politics. I hate politics). Can't wait to start!
