I would like to host a journal feature about Photojournalism (i.e. photography). I want dramatic photos that have a STORY behind them. Even if the story behind the photo is strong, the photo quality must be evident, i.e. composition, lighting, tone, etc. This means, I don't want documentation photos, but this does not mean I do not want documentary photography - point being - have high quality photos that tells a story.

Rules:

ONLY POST 1 PHOTO
Type: "OMGWTFLOL" so I know your not spamming
Please give a Short story behind your photo, and make sure its posted in the original submission!

I attended a model shoot-out end of May in Laurens, SC. Most of the activities took place in a park in downtown Laurens. On Sunday, one of the guys found this snake in the grass at the park...a wild snake. They caught it and it bit the guy pretty badly. It began to be passed around the guys, and I think the girls thought it was someone's pet snake, so they began wanting to hold it and asked me to take their picture while holding it. I was scared to say the least, I don't like snakes, especially wild ones. But I took some pictures of the girls holding the snake. Funny thing is my sister Julie attended and she as well held the snake, once she held the snake the guy showed her the bite mark and she gave it back - still thinking it was the guy's pet. On the way home she was talking about it and I told her it was a wild snake caught in the park. She freaked out.

i was traveling in India with some friends, when we stopped in this school and so went in to have a look. i was amazed of how much enthusiasm the children had in their eyes. it was an amazing experience one that i will never forget

I have more photos with a story in my gallery if you want to take a look :)

I like the topic of this journal feature, although I don't really qualify. And by the way, your gallery is simply breathtaking. Just thought you'd like to know :)

I took this last year in August, when 20 years passed from the greatest spontaneous mass night-singing demonstrations in Tallinn, Estonia. The "Singing Revolution" is the series of events between 1987 and 1990 that led to the restoration of the independence of the Baltic States: Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. :)

I don't know if it's the kind of works you want for your feature... Anyway, the story is so visible, so understandable, i think... it's a story about a deep sufference, about an eating desorder that always accompanies her days...
and the saddest think is that this is a story about me

This is the most recent photojournalism work I did. Unfortunately I don't have a deep story to give you about this, but it's still pretty cool. Memphis is not known for being very unique and there really isn't many big events outside of certain music fests that get much coverage, but I thought it was so awesome of Memphis to host the annual Memphis Zombie March and actually keep it up!

Again, there's not a huge story behind it.. It's really just a bunch of zombie fans getting together, dressing up and marching down one of the most populated areas of Memphis.
