"All features present in v2, shall return".

:iconjnc:
Even just the (what I'd imagine to be) simple stuff isn't back yet. I'm no website whizz, but I can't imagine it'd take 1 year+ to bring backthe following:

Forum report button.
Next/Previous deviation.
Devpacks (or 'My Collections' which were promised since v3)
Preview button.
'With description' Gallery viewing. Wonder if anyone even remembers that.
A more desirable-looking Prints section (aside from the colour, it's presented just like a regular gallery; a far cry from dAprints.com)
'View All' user page comments. (This is still possible, but seemingly not officially, and rather time-consuming to do)
Next/previous in the Forums. And no 'it's to prevent bumping' baloney, some of the threads in places like Complaints or Deviants don't reach 4 hours old before being pushed off. Worried about ancient thread-bumping? Introduce an auto-lock after 2 weeks of thread inactivity, that should do the trick.

I could go on.

All I want is a serious explanation as to how the site can undergo TWO revamps, and still not have satisfied that little quote I have in the title. And none of this 'low priority' guff.

A chat system, worked from ground up, has been implemented. A rating system...enough said about that. There's been the introduction, subsequent removal and inexplicable re-entry of a user page comment limit that was conceived incredibly short sightedly.

A shuffle-round of the minimal skin, yet for this the others must disappear.

Searching is a near-official subscriber perk. There's SCRAPS...and a disable comment feature? Wow, don't even get me started on that.

Who decided not to allow people to view all Journals and once? If, for whatever reason, I need to browse for someone's entry from, say, a year ago, I'm screwed. I'm not going to sit there clicking 'Next 5' for an eternity. If there's an easier way, I haven't yet seen it.

I think you get the gist of what I'm saying. Which of these were considered 'high priorities'? They're all equally pointless, so why are they here over old, useful features like devpacks? There'd probably be about 100,000 less 'stock' accounts if devpacks were here.

Hey, anyone want to announce the Art of Threes contest winner? :|

The Daily Deviations have gone to the shitter. The regular/Gallery Forums are a playground for misbehaviour and miscategorisation as they is little to no moderation. Those are stories for another day though.

So...what's the hold-up? A cookie is waiting for anyone who can give a response that I haven't heard before.

Someone. Tell me. I'll die happy.

Someone who agrees! I've been saying all this to anything that will stay still enough to listen...although no one seems to agree or even care in the slightest.
DA now seems so different and impersonal compared to this time last year. The option to turn off commenting, may I ask what the purpose of putting something up on DA if you aren't gonna let anyone give you feedback on it? To me that's what the main purpose of DA was...an art community...where artistic ideas and help is shared.
I miss the old days...which is sad, seeing as I'm still much noobier than alot of people on here. Somehow I don't think alot of DA's recent changes have made DA a better place :(

If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams and follow your heart, you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and who weren't so lazy!

Won't hear any arguments from me. I've been advocating some of those for a while, especially a specific Forum Moderator.
:iconninjabrick:
You would know better than us. ;)

But yes, I am in agreement with pretty much everything there.

 I would love to see the same thing happen myself, well to a point.

Core admins don't seem to care much anymore about public view of things. I've sent a few notes/emails/whatever on these subjects and they've been ignored. Oh well I guess?

One thing I don't agree with on your post is the "Disable Comments" thing. I find that system to be useful - but it came into effect because of problems in the writer's gallery, so perhaps its effect is more visible in the writer's gallery. It has been helpful though.

Otherwise I agree with everything you've said.

A picture, like a human, will speak a thousand words, and never say a goddamn thing.
:iconstarsailor:
I agree with you generally speaking. Well, I don't care that much about devpacks for example but I'm also wondering why really useful things like the preview button were removed or not reincluded for that matter

Like ~tHe-iNviSibLe I think that dA is more impersonal than it used to be, too. I really miss the Gallery Feature, for example, or the 'old' Daily Deviation. These features could draw attention to a single piece of art and its artist, but not on the basis of popularity but on the basis of artistic talent.
:iconninjabrick:
Well, then I guess we're just screwed.
