The Ads In My inbox!

Okay, these things literally just got here. I've been avoiding the dA ads because I can tell a lot of them have viruses if you click on them.

I don't even scroll my frickin' mouse over them anymore. that's how bad I don't trust them.

I've got two on my page, had two normal ones in my inbox, yes yes, very easy for me to avoid. Then dA put the advertisements IN by inbox. I gotta say that's really annoying and I don't like the thought of it. Just yesterday I accidentally clicked an ad...Of course i exited the tab right away. About two seconds after.

"A virus has been detected on your computer!"

Scanned the system

got rid of it

thanks for having ads with viruses

and now they're in my inbox

by chance of getting another virus has just been increased my 35%.

Yes, thanks for that

sorry, my comments tend to sound very rude but seriously please take them away. This is my favorite website i visit every day when I can. I don't want to hate this site because you give me viruses all the time. Twice it's happened now. I highly recommend testing out the ad before having on dA because I don't want any more viruses. Thank you,

Because other people have already provided you the answers, here is a possible why. dA doesn't put ads on the site. They are managed by 3rd party companies whom dA has some sort of deal with. That would be a lot of work for dA to be both a marketing firm and a social network, they'd need a lot more spam bots.

Get an adblocker, they can be downloaded and installed completely free and don't harm your computer.

Thanks for your help. Someone else linked me an ad blocker. Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to download things onto my computer and i'm afraid it'll jack stuff up no matter what it is . I could always run it by my dad, but he'll get all up-in-my-biz and stuff. :(

Ask for permission. It's a very small file, and it gets rid of ALL the ads without need of a premium membership, including most ads in the rest of the websites.

I guess I'll try...I mean, it's not very important to anybody else, ( my mom doesn't know anything about computers, my dad is the techno-guy ) but I've had bad virus/computer experiences as well as with my dad. It makes me nervous when he even walks in the same room as me and to be honest I don't talk to him much. I'm a little terrified of asking him/
