Deviation sets
- The submitter will be able to group and order the submission set, for easy management
- There will be a next/previous button (and if someone wants it a first button) for easy navigation between the parts/chapters/episodes of the set
- Everyone will be able to favorite/watch a set. There will be an overview of the watched sets on the my.deviantart.com page, which will show all deviations in the set and shows the ones you've already seen/read greyed out.
The benefits
- It will be easier the submitter to manage the deviations
- This will give the opportunity to give a name to the set (name of the story) and also a name to the parts of the set (name of the chapter), without interference.
- It will make it easier for story/comic readers and movie watchers to bookmark the page at which they are (since read pages are greyed out).
- If someone hasn't read a story or comic or hasn't seen a movie in a long time and a new part/chapter/page is submitted, they can easily go back to the last read submittion (it is greyed out, but still clickable)
- With the previous/next buttons it doesn't matter if anymore if the submitter also submits other content to his/her gallery, which causes the previous/next button at the top to navigate to submissions that have nothing to do with the set. The new buttons only navigate between parts of the set, while the buttons at the top of the page navigate between submissions in the gallery.
Who would like these deviation sets?
It could be every member of dA, for example:
- If you write a story with multiple chapters
- If you make a comic with more than one page
- If you make films that are devided in episodes
- If you have a photo sequence that belong together
- If dA would allow you to submit music: if you have multiple songs that belong together in an album.
I already heard multiple positive reactions on this suggestion and I believe it to be easy to implement and very beneficial for the dA community!
