More Like This Concerns/Suggestion

Just a suggestion for the More Like This widget: Put it back to you have to click on it to see the suggestions.

My main concern is that I'll be looking at some art and some Mature art will be displayed. With the way some people put in search terms, this is a very real possibility even if the original image was Work Safe.

The other concerns I have with the open More Like This widget is it clutters up the page and slows down the load time for those of us on slow connections.

You can no longer comment on this thread as it was closed due to no activity for a month.

This has been mentioned several times and i completely agree...

i'm a paying member. if someone is browsing my work, the absolute LAST thing i would want is a very visible and large thumbnail of someone else's work immediately next to mine. minimally, i think the position of the "more like this" box should be switched with the "more from this deviant" box (further down the page while viewing a deviation), AND the size of the thumbnails should be switched as well; MLT-small thumbnail, MFD-large thumbnail

really, you have to ask yourself; why oh why, would i want someone else's work directly competing with mine in plain vision, while a user is browsing MY work? in my opinion, this is VERY wrong and exactly counter-productive to the core purpose of this website; to maximize exposure of MY work.

now, if there was a key to filling the MLT box with my own work while viewing one of my own deviations, then it wouldn't be so bad. but as it stands, this borderlines insulting.

With all the shenanagins and drama that have ocurred here since i've started; upgrades, fixes, changes, social media debacles, etc. (and there have been MANY such ocurrances lol), this could be the first time in the 6+ years i've been a member, that i'd consider moving my work somewhere else.

Does anyone know if it's possible to use more than one piece of art to search for others in the "More Like This" system? Say I liked something that multiple pieces of art had in common, and I wanted to narrow my search to specifically what they had in common. Is that possible?

can anybody know how this MLT feature works? About the keywords i use, when i post my dev? Category?
Mostly all of my pictures have the same suggstions: bearded male art. One from my galery and 5 from others, but why? I use deifferent categories and different keywords (it depends each of my pictures) Annoying, to see pictures next to mine with nothing have any common 'things' with mine. Nature? Buildings? Still life? Does not matter, bearded males.... You can check.
And sorry my bad english, i still learning it.

how do we now if your picture is being shown on another persons page? you can't know. and sometimes it's random pictures that has nothing to do with your picture in the first place.
that widget should be places during search & maybe the the gallery page.

its like google search for looking up your name under the IMAGE tab close to the bottom, random pictures from many websites shows up.

Before "more like this"
Someone browsing my jewelry can see "more from this artist" on the sidebar. They click on another necklace that catches their eye.

After "more like this"
Someone browsing my jewelry can't see "more from this artist" anymore, and is distracted by "more like this". They see mostly my jewelry and say, "Neat! More from this artist!" Then they click on a piece of jewelry that isn't mine.

I agree with K-Koji up there, the feature is crap when compared to showing other stuff of my own... random people get a bigger section, while I get a tiny little space that, already no doubt, few people can even know it's there due to its size and thus don't look at

with it being forced open now is even worse, because I want to look at art on my terms and on my searches
it needs an option to disable or collapse it, and additionally needs to be UNDER my 'other art' thumbnails, which should also be larger than more like this

I do agree that the more like this widget should be turned back into a button and is too big and distracting on the deviation page for my liking.
Although from what I've seen from the widget on my deviation pages, it mostly displays my own art although not anything related in any way to the deviation on the page.

Actually, I'd love to see them add a minimize option to the more like this feature as when I'm looking at animated pictures, the more like this box tends to have more animated pictures and from experience I've had my browser crash a few times, I'd like to see DeviantART look into that problem.. sorry if I'm getting the wrong message from what you're trying to say as I think it is worded weirdly.

I can see what you mean though, I do think that the more like this should be able to opened and closed because I wouldn't like having other peoples art showing on my art if you know what I mean.
