Being a cosplayer, it's always been difficult deciding who should post what photos. It doesn't make much sense to have several of one photo floating around, but there always ends up being a lot of talk of who should post what photos: the photographer, the cosplayer, or if it's a group shot, which cosplayers. Plus, if one person posts the photo, then the other's in the photo don't get notified of comments which they might like to see. I was wondering if maybe it might be useful to set up a tagging feature? Like, if you credit a user in the deviation comments, you might have the option of tagging that user so that they will be notified of any comments. Or, better yet, a feature where multiple people can be seen as the creator of a deviation, and that deviation could be a part of multiple user galleries. In addition to helping cosplayers, it might also be useful for more traditional artist who do collaborations. Either way, it was just an idea that I had. Thank you very much for hearing me out!
Yes, it's been mentioned before and dA is working on it, if I remember correctly.
But this would be a great addition which would ensure everyone involved in a creation would get equal credit for it and be notified of comments and favorites
So you are asking dA for a similar upload function like Newgrounds Where musicians, animators and other collaborators are listed That would be a great idea if it was incorporated into dA
one person uploads it and selects individuals that collaborated. each user that has been selected as a collaborator cannot be removed and have their own comments section.
a link to the work will then appear in all collaborator galleries.
in the occurrence that one or more collaborating individuals blocks each other, the artists comments on said collaboration cannot be edited further.
There's only one thing I would change about this, and that would be who ever is tagged or selected as a collaborator should be able to remove themselves from the deviation if they so choose, similar to deleting a personal deviation.
If one couldn't remove themselves after being tagged, I could see some major problems coming up like people tagging others in deviations which they do not want to be tagged in, or that they didn't even work on. So instead it would work like this: A uploads deviation -> A tags B, C, and D as collaborators/models/photographer -> B and C accept the deviation as part of their own, it gets put in their gallery, they get notifications about it -> D declines the tag, nothing happens on their end, but they still can be credited in the comments -> C eventually decides that they don't want the deviation to be credited to them, and deletes the deviation from their gallery. The deviation is no longer credited to them, but the deviation still exists. And so on.
Obviously, if a person wanted any credit written in the comments removed, they'd have to discuss it with person A, but that's no different than how deviantArt works currently. But I really like the idea each creator/collaborator getting their own comment section! That'd be super nice!
Either way, it was just an idea that I had. Thank you very much for hearing me out!
