I was just wondering if it would be possible to hide the comments box on the user front page. I don't like people using it as a means to spam/promote their own endeavors and piggy-back on popular artists to spotlight their irrelevant bids for attention.
For the sake of maintaining a cleaner page that is focused just on my artwork, can we have a way to hide those front page comments?
Well, uhhhh... You could try putting a really, really, really long meme before the comments. Maybe the people will get annoyed having to scroll down. That or mark 'em as spam
Yes, I need the 'disable user page comments' option very badly. I don't want anyone commenting on my page due to my privacy concerns (You can see why I have disabled all of my deviations. I wish I can do that to my page). I rather communicate through a note (DA's private message) instead of comments in public. Not everyone wants people to post comments on their stuff publicity, and people just want to be here to only show their art and creativity to the world, not to get unwanted attention from strangers or people that they don't know.
I know there is the ability to hide comments, but that does nothing but bring questions in mind, and disabling comments would be much better (Many other sites and forums allow you to disable profile comments, so why not here?). I hope that DA will get this feature out, quick.
Having the option to remove the userpage comment section for those who don't want it there wouldn't hurt anyone. I'd like the ability to place the comment section in a different part of the page too.
Ah, popular user problems. I wish I could relate. But I don't think such commentary would bother me. My art's at the top of the page, so if folks scroll down to see the comments, at least they're not totally glossing over the main purpose of the page.
Still, I'm all for giving all users more customization options. I'd like to be able to disable comments on polls and make favorites only viewable by the person who uploaded the deviation, personally.
Like what i do on top of my comments bar see? Ever since i put that on (and then proceeded to verbally abuse and viciously bash users who still ignored that) it has deterred everyone from ever doing what i don't want them to.
Hmm, not that I'm aware of, though it seems like an interesting idea... Still, hiding specific comments that seem like they're just there to spam could work, although it'd be time-consuming...
