Make a Supergroup pool Widget. Make a Widget specific to raising funds to pay for a supergroup. Seems like everyone's worried about funds being misused by groups admins. If the Widget raised money to pay for a specific purpose many people could know there points support a specific cause.

This would be useful, not only for supergroup funds, but also to fund prizes for the contests groups host instead of the group admins having to shell out points for prizes from their own personal points pool.

I was thinking about the specific goal of raising funds for a supergroup. The points could never be in the hands of the admins this way, and therefor no chance of corruption. When the goal was reached points are awarded to DA, and the group is made a supergroup automatically. Other Widgets could be designed though that involve a group member signup, a timer for a deadline, and group vote to award funds to one member who wins a contest. Call it a contest Widget. This could turn the power of awarding points to the group, and circumvent admin corruption.

It's a good idea but I was told a while ago that it's not possible due to legal issues.

This could also have the effect of making many more groups supergroups. No one person would have to bear the burden of paying the cost of being a supergroup. Many small donations could make it possible without redirecting members to an alternate page which could be misused.
