THE SIT BACK FEATURE NEEDS AN UPDATE

This has got to be one of the best things I like to watch. However, its settings are out of sync with the view perspective. No matter how long you set the time for the slideshow speed, it never makes it to the other side of the picture. THE SCROLLING SPEED NEEDS AN ADJUSTMENT BUTTON! Perhaps even a graphics rendering plugin to get better framerate for panoramic. Example: a painting will start sometimes at the feet(or bottom of picture) and scroll upwards but never make it to the other side or see the full picture before its changed to the next picture. ITS So annoying, and yet I love this feature.

I also think the feature should be available on folders from group uploads you get in your messages. A connection with the "more like this" feature is needed as well, like an option plugin.

I also see that this sitback feature rarley works on tablets that don't support flash! even some browsers fail to initialize/// super ouch! :fork: this feature is like, the most important to tablet users. To better enjoy Deviant art as a whole with out endless scrolling though boxed tabs with art thumbnails.

I kind if like it that way. It adds some mystery to the deviations that are being displayed, like a preview of what to expect. I'm sure that's what it was meant for. If there's one that someone wants to see the rest of, then he or she can just go into the gallery and look.

I suppose that is a good point, but the panning and scrolling speed of the sitback feature is a limitation by the mechanics of the program. Its a set way it reads the picture leaving the majority not revealed was not a happy accident. but I guess if you look at it that way, perhaps it is. I would prefer if the 'small pictures edit out box' was clicked, it should scroll throughat least the majority of the overall pic

I never use SitBack, but I do know that you can use the settings to change the speed of transitions. Set it long enough and it does show the edge of an image and then starts moving in a different direction. I don't know if that will change how much of an image is displayed as they're moving around, but play around and see. But really, it's meant to be like a screensaver, technically not to show 100% of every image.

More Like This: This is technically already a feature. You just have to open the deviation in a tab/new window and the More Like This button will be there on the right column.

For the part about tablets, dA can't do anything about that. If a tablet doesn't support Flash (like an iPad), then the only thing they can do is remake the whole thing using HTML5, which is a lot of work and still not fully supported either. It would work for those tablets, but then it wouldn't work for people with older browsers (especially IE users). I also don't see what makes you think it's the most important feature for tablet users. Maybe for you it is, but not everyone else. I think most people actually prefer normal browsing than waiting for images to flash by one-by-one in a slideshow.

its funny, I can see that more like this is allready a feature. but in relation to the sitback its not.

I like your feedback on the html 5 issue. Alot of stuff is being trashed because of the stinking ipad and the apple conglomeration, with its anti flash regime. I search long and hard to find a tablet that still supported flash, and even adobe has discontinued updates on all mobile devices. I think its becuase nobody can sell media at top dollar in pay per view format or subscription based servers, if somebody could easily stream it in hd without a problem using flashlugins on about 10,000 other sites.

The problem with Flash is that it requires a plug-in and the entire internet space is moving away from that. Plug-ins hog resources and are generally less efficient than something browser-based, like HTML5. Right now the only hurdle is the speed at which HTML5 gets adopted across the browser market.

Well they will have to eventually when Flash becomes obsolete.
