Advanced Search Options

When I'm looking for something specific, say "Brothers" in Photography > People & Portraits and I want to see as many photos as I can at once, in as many subcategories as possible, with the exception of, let's say, cosplay, because it makes up a good part of the People & Portraits subcategory. Not that I have an issue with cosplay, but it's just not what I'm looking for. So I click on Photography, and then I ought to be able to choose which subcategories I want to look at, by clicking check boxes (or unclicking pre-selected check boxes), or something. This way, I can look at all the People & Portraits I want, and none of the stuff I don't. And this of course would apply to all categories, not just Photography. Thoughts/clarification?

There are already advanced Search options in place: FAQ #577: How do I use the Search?
But it would be nice to see them more incorporated, yes.

Goodness, I didn't even know that page existed. I'll have to write some of these down. O:
But is there an option for excluding subcategories?

Under the category section:
"in:photography/architecture
Returns Deviations from the Architecture subcategory in Photography

fish in:photography/architecture
Returns Deviations from the Architecture subcategory in Photography that have "fish" in their title, description or keywords"
