I'd like to see who is downloading along with the 's. There have been several times where the downloads of an image have exceeded the 's in my gallery. Make it so that you have to log in to click download. It doesn't seem like it would be difficult to track who it is that is downloading if they are logged in to DA. Just a suggestion.
There are more reasons why a piece gets downloaded than just someone clicking 'download'. It's possible someone right clicks the image and selects 'open in new tab' (most browsers give a similar option) or that they find the image through an image search engine for example.
Ah, that is interesting. I didn't know it would track that as well; so perhaps, that is what is happening. If that is the case then I think that my "ignorance is bliss" option may be for the best and just turn off the download option so I don't have to see it. Thanks for the information! Much appreciated!
For most things aside from ZIP packs and things like .PSD files, downloads are just full-views. They're not like watches or favorites, and rather are probably akin more to views.
Perhaps, that is what they are doing and not just downloading the image. I have no idea (which is partially the problem). I do set the size to what I consider best for viewing; however, I don't think that this precludes not having a DA account to actually click the Download option. If it is being used as a "FULLER VIEW" they should include the option as such (and whether or not the artist wants it) not just say "Download" which has a different, specific meaning.
Never-the-less, I've resorted to a back-up option which is to go back and turn off all downloads, so I will not have to see them. It my, "ignorance is bliss" option.
Anyway, thanks for your thoughts on the matter; they are appreciated.
