The problem with that, though, is who would want a fine art print on a sticker? How effective would that be in reality? Even if you went with say, chibi non-fanart characters, unless you expect the consumer to cut out the stickers themselves, dA would have to pre-cut sticker designs and what not (which is surprisingly more custom than just printing it on a certain surface like a mug or mousepad).
By that logic who would want fine art prints on a mousepad or refrigerator magnet? Stickers are cool and a lot of artists on dA already make and sell them and they're very popular.
No, I mean like, what good is a square/rectangular sticker with fancy arts on it(aside from maybe use as a background for other stickers)? Usually stickers are individual little characters, that again, would either require the customer to cut them out or require custom pre-cutting. Unless, of course, they offered only set shapes such as [link] does, but then that would cut off much of the artwork.
Plus the stickers just don't seem very practical to me unless, again, they're of individual characters, whereas the mouse pad and magnet seem more practical because they're more durable and versatile than stickers, and the art won't be extremely cropped.
Same use as any other stickers? You'd collect them or put them on things. You're kind of assuming all or most prints are fancy art though, a lot of people draw individual characters looking cute or doing silly things.
I don't see an issue with people cutting them out themselves or having set shapes, people could create their stickers to meet the set shapes if they're planning to sell prints I guess? Anyways, I was just giving a suggestion as someone who would buy stickers from dA if they were available.
Stickers aren't meant to be practical they're just cute and fun. Did you not use stickers as a kid or something?
