forum section for buying and selling art supplies

there's already a "job services" forum so why not create another section just for art supplies?

if someone has art supplies they don't want or need, they can start a thread about it, and describe the item and give a price. people can respond and ask questions or say "sure i'd like to buy" and then people can note each other about it and arrange it so that the person sends the item to the other person.

i think this would be useful =D

There you go. You can use the Commission widget that way.

no i still want a forum section. more people will see something if i start a forum thread about it than if it's just on my profile page or journal. the reason is that people who are looking for art supplies will know to go to that forum section because that's what the section is for. but my page and journal aren't specifically for art supplies. so it's better to just have a section everyone can know to go to.

Try using the Projects forum.

There's also the new Commission widget that +spyed is testing on his profile. You could use that to set a price for items and a limit to how many can be bought. Don't know how exactly it will work yet, but that's potentially a much better option.

Yes. It's pretty much the same thing as the PCP, but without downloads. You type in the description of what you're selling and give it a price in Points (which you can convert to real money and withdraw later). The downside is that dA takes a 20% fee on all purchases using their service.

It's been released to all beta testers now, actually. It's basically just the PCP system in a widget.
