I've seen a lot of cases where artists on DA upload a lot of work form other deviants. And frankly, it takes far too long to remove them. The process of contacting artists who've work they've stolen and having them fill out a form is inefficient.
~opelp is a prime example. He has been on here for weeks, posting badly photoshopped work from other artists. And though I and many others have sent complaints about him and have contacted artists all over the site to report him, he remains. Is there any possible way to implement a system where if a user appears in a certain number of reports he can be placed on a higher priority for action. Personally, this offends me more than seeing what most would call "offensive" art.
to be frank, when you sign up to deviantart you give deviantart the right to sell your work to third parties, im guessing not alot of people know about that, search this website for your work [link]
This isn't about work being used by DA, it's about other users on the site stealing work or photos, manipulating them to their own ends, and not giving proper credit.
well, it's not so simple. but recently most people i know seem to have realy lost faith in dA so who knows, i'm sure if it's that bad they will get to it eventually.
"I've contacted the DA admin about him and they said harden the f**k up and live with it *shrugs* seems that they are only comfortable banning/suspending people that are innocent." - Exact quote.
What sucks even more is that - according to a comment on opelp's main page - a moderator did reply to one of the people that reported him, basically saying something like he's not doing anything wrong and just grow up and tolerate it... yeah... wow...
You do realize that one of the reasons it takes so long is because people like you clog up the system by spamming reports. Normal person does not contact the offending user, because that doesn't help. Nor do they continually spam reports and ask other to do the same. This clogs up the system.
Multiple reports of copyright violations (and other deviation reports made using the 'report deviation' link on the deviation page) don't clog up the system. It's designed to handle duplicate reports from numerous users by combining those reports into a single consolidated page-per-deviation
