I have been browsing the welcome center threads and noticing that quite a few members never knew a form and other things also exist on DA...maybe Staff should send a automated note when the member joins with links to things such as the welcome center and community relations group along with a link to getting started post and some key rules and etc. like-[link] ? Could boost DA a bit. Just putting that out there
You seem to forget when you first started on DA. Being recently new I can attest that the whole site takes a lot of getting used to. The arrow for the forums and stuff you tend to not see until you are here awhile as you are focusing on the art, which is why you came to begin with.
I really think that's a bad excuse: [link] The problem some people have seems to be just not paying attention or trying to look at anything other than their own profile or the front page.
Of course. I'm finishing up my second to last semester of university in 2 weeks, I work a part-time job as a designer for an international design agency 3 days a week, I freelance for an art distribution company in Canada on the side, and I go out with friends whenever we have time to places like parks, museums, events, and bars. All that and I still have time to go on multiple social networks occasionally throughout my days.
I work MWF, have classes TH, do freelancing nights or weekends (depending on the situation), and do homework any time I can. I very frequently get little sleep and every semester have at least one all-nighter to get things done on time. It's hard on me and I don't get to spend time with friends as much as I'd like, but because I put in all that effort I've never had any grade below a B. Sites like Facebook are what helps me keep connected with my friends when I can't see them in person.
I welcome deviants I find on the +today page often ^^ I don't think it would work as well if it was automatic though. When I join a site, I do so because I want to do something, and I'm not really looking to be told what to do. I'd likely ignore such automatic messages.
(That's just my personal opinion anyway, not as part of my job or anything )
