So we can talk about our stuff and get help with altering it if need. Of course you kinda have to have a good reason to post, art skill milestones will do but posting something for something sake is bad. It also makes the staff cranky

You mean like give users the ability to start a sub-forum HERE? That would be insane. You'd have a million of them.

Otherwise, pay for a premium and get the personal forum.

I don't think this is such a good idea. Do you know how many users deviantART has? That would be too many pointless, unused subforums.

Premium members have their own personal forums in their profile that they can talk about whatever they want. If people want to talk just to talk, that's what the chatrooms and personal journals are for.
