Make it possible for us to block deviations of certain artists

Seriously, why is there no option to turn off specific deviants if you don't want to see their works in the frontpage or search results.

I definitely would love to see this, especially blocking tags. I don't have a mature filter on because a lot of lovely artwork has breasts in it, but I would much rather not see gross inflation artwork all over the place D:

Especially if you block them. This could also apply for forum posts, chatrooms and journal portal features.

I would love to filter out those god awful DeviantART secrets; they're more suited to a Jerry Springer show than an art site.

I wanted to make a likewise thread. I would have put it like this though:
I think it might be a good idea to allow people to create customized filters. For example next to filtering mature content, it would be nice if you could filter other things you know you do not want to see from the newest deviations page. That might be certain categories of deviations (for example desktop screenshots) or deviations with (a) certain tagword(s) (for example 'My Little Pony').
However there might be cons that I'm missing. :P

This is a great idea, letting people customize what they never want to see on this site for their personal searches. I hate seeing all those slutty pictures or those ridiculous quotes that make the front page. It would certainly prevent a lot of drama on here.

I like this idea, I'd also love it if we could block certain tags.

I've had the same problem as you, I get things in my searches that aren't even remotely what I'm looking for or my searches are filled with deviations that are close but not quite there.

Like the other day I was searching for a pose expecting to find pictures of people but instead I got a lot of pets or wild animals (laying down). I don't have a problem with people posting animal pictures, it just wasn't what I was looking for at the time :P

I have AdBlocker Plus, but I can't actually block images or thumbnails with it...

I agree with this idea, especially for tags or what is in the title. I see a lot of hate in the things I search for and I'd prefer not to see them. It'd be kinda like Tumblr Savior, but for deviantART.

I've seen people search a deviant's username and the results were of their own artwork at first glance.

Why not search with -'username' added and see if that will work as a temporary alternative :)

It works if you search "-by:username"
