Many forums have an option to allow you edit your comments and replies which is very useful, I really think DA can benefit from this option even if the edit button is only available the first few minutes after the post, thanks!

If we could still view the previous version of the comment, I guess it would be fine to allow edit in the first few minutes after the comment was posted; but for me that seems like a lot of work for dA when users could simply use the "preview" button to double check their posts before posting.

I didn't think of that but it seems like a logical solution as well, and I don't see how it's being complicated, DA always keep a version of every pic submitted in the forum even if they were deleted or edited they always keep the original, so I don't see how this can't apply to comments as well!

Somebody didn't read the sticky...

Isn't that what the 'preview' button is for?

Some of us work double shifts and don't have much time to re-read every single post they make, well I only work a double shift once a week but I realize many work double shifts daily, and some are just lazy to read, I don't see why punish them like that!

That is possibly the lamest excuse I have ever heard.

You work a double shift so you don't have time to read for an extra 10 seconds? What are you doing- playing online when you're supposed to be working?

No I check my messages very fast before I head to bed exhausted!

So you can't spend an extra ten seconds? Again- lame excuse. I've worked 18 hour days before. Not an excuse for not paying attention to what you are doing.

Or you could always just wait until you have some time off to reply to your messages. Absolutely NOTHING here is life or death and requires your immediate response.

That was just an example, it's not the only reason, I don't see why adding an edit feature is a bad idea!

The sticky says, "Please view the Common Suggestions List below before posting your suggestion. Your thread can be about a common suggestion in order to generate constructive discussion, but please look to see if there is another thread about the same suggestion first - in that case, please do not post a duplicate thread, but instead add your discussion to the existing thread."

But I agree.
