Specific options for the mature filter

I'm not sure if this has been brought up before, and since I couldn't find it in the common suggestions, I thought I would bring this up.

In submitting art, if you flag your art as having "mature content" you can place it under a number of categories. However, when setting your mature filter, you can only have it ON or OFF. Before I was 18 and could choose the options of my mature filter, I assumed you could filter mature content by category. It makes sense to me. However, this is not the case. I feel it is restricting because I do not wish to view any "artistic nudes", but I want to be able to view artworks which contain "violence and gore" without having to click past a mature waring notice or turn off my filter at the risk of seeing nudes that I did not want to see. If the mature content has to be categorized, I do not see why the mature filter can't, or shouldn't, be able to filter according to these categories.

So, my suggestion is to be able to have more options when toggling your mature filter, so you can view some mature content categories, but still have the mature filter on others. Since this categorization is already required, it shouldn't be too difficult to allow the mature filters to be able to filter by category. The categories which you would be able to set your mature filter to would be the same as the categories which deviants flag their mature content in.

Thank you for reading my suggestion, and have a good day. :)

I just want them to bring the mature content thumbs back, I get tired of having to mess with the filter settings every-time I want to browse the site unrestricted.

Just want to add my own vote for a viewing filter of mature content. Even if it just followed "strict", "warning" and "no".

It's very irritating that I can't filter out the more extreme sexual content, and see, say "minor nudity". I have a few such pieces in my own gallery. And that's not the same thing, say, as a close up of someone genitals.

It has been suggested before and there's a lot of support for it as a suggestion. I would personally LOVE to see this implemented :aww:

I saw this in my inbox just now :L I have to say I can't understand why. If you want to block some things then others then well, just keep it on such as look->see's warning->go away. Not sure if that is the hardest thing ever.

Because the images are presented as thumbnails. Most artists don't have a preview image of "Warning: this is porn," so if you do a search, you're faced with the images automatically. That's why I'm hoping we can have the option of personally customizing what does and doesn't come up in our own searches. :)

...If it has a mature filter it will show deviant green with a shaded circle an a 'minus' sign on it, if i were to say "omg this is porn" all over a preview, well guess who has tha 20% chance of gettinb banned since oyu aren't allowed to even post that (only artisitc nude apparently but noone takes that seriously any more)

That's exactly my point. Right now, if I don't want to see a great many gratuitous crotch shots, I have to turn off ALL mature content. What if I wanted to filter out some of it, but not all of it? That's why I hope DA will add such a feature.

And, true, DA supposedly doesn't allow porn. True, people post porn anyway. I suppose people COULD argue that the cell phone crotch shot is an "artistic experiment" but I kind of wish DA would crack down on it. There IS a difference between a model who happens not to be wearing clothing and a cell phone crotch shot, and I believe most people can tell them apart in terms of "art-ness."
