Banned Screen

:icontherealdarkfox13:
So, I noticed that one of the lesser Admins screwed up something of DA, one of the few special things I didn't think could be fucked up, the banned screen. They changed it into some half-assed deactivation screen and now you got everyone and a half getting all confused because lo-and-behold a trolling account "deactivated" before a report could go through, a favorite artist "deactivated" with no warning, or brand new accounts show up for maybe a day then "deactivate", when the reality of it all is the accounts were banned. Seriously, why not put the effort into throwing up a variation of the new Suspended screen? Instead of having it say "Suspended" have it say "BANNED", and show that picture of that DA devil thing-thing with his caution tape, or whatever the image is for a banned user (it's been so long since I myself was banned). It'd make more sense considering when you're banned you're not even close to being inactive, you can still operate your account just without submitting, faving or commenting.

If I hear complaining along the lines of "it's a lot of programming", stuff it, if the admins can take the time to change the set-up from the old banned screen then they have the ability to correct their mistakes. These damn updates are "fixing" things that aren't broke and forcing things to "break".

I think your right. A very, very long time ago before I was a member of DA, I wanted to go to see :iconinvaderkatara: gallery. But it said she was banned. Later, I was a member of DA then I went to :iconinvaderkatara:'s profile again. Then it said she deactivated her account. And recently :iconl-c-c-h: was trolling DA and I'm pretty sure he got banned. But DA said he deactivated his account. I don't believe that. I wish DA would change things the way they were! I totally agree with you!

How annoying, now you won't be able to tell if people are ban evading. I discover most because they write to all their friends saying "Hi, this is ----------, I had to get new account, plz watch me again."

I know dA prob avoids it incase someone cries libel, but I'd really like a loose reason displayed why a person was banned if it's serious too. Like if someone tried to scam commissioners with a gallery of stolen art examples. Or was caught trying to pressure kids into sex or nude photos. I really think people who were friends with banned people deserve a tip-off of their nature in cases like that. In case they try to contact them elsewhere.
With only deactivation messages, banned people will prob just tell kids they wanted a new name and pick up working on them exactly where they left off, leaving them none the wiser. :X

If they've fed banned people into the same process as deactivated members, I hope they've at least fixed the problem where banned people's stolen art and porn stayed up but unlinked. That always bugged me.

If a person is banned forever, that should be indicated in bold letters. Not only that, but the rule(s) that was broken should also be be displayed on the ban. Also the person's email address should also be displayed if the reason for the ban was very extreme.

I agree that the page should say if someone is banned or deactivated.

You won't be the only one, so far the only people I see disagreeing are doing it for the sake of disagreeing, so I know we all want this to be fixed.

As DarkFox says, that's irrelevant. It's more or less an issue that it's quite easy for a banned user to ban evade because it's unclear whether the user deactivated or banned so people can't report them and the point of having a ban would be moot.
